Late as usual, Lisa and I hurried down onto the sandy beach of the Gulf State Park, with our new FUJIFILM X-T2, hoping to catch the last of the good light. We were later than we'd hoped but the light actually became better and better, once the sun had set. It took us a while before we were able to grab a shot without any walking through the image. This is a very popular spot.
This was a fun ut challenging shot to take! I wanted to capture the soft warm light of the sky but also the rich colour and contrasting shapes of the barnacles on the pillars of the pier. With the FUJIFILM X-T2 on a tripod, we used Lume Cubes to bounce diffused light of the pillars and put two Lume Cubes underwater to light the sand. We also used two more Lume cubes on the reverse of the two front pillars to bounce light up underneath the main pier structure. We're pretty happy with the result.
The cloud made capturing the moon tough but the colours created by this rising super moon were stunning.
