The Golden Temple - India

On a freezing cold morning, we raced to beat sunrise in the Punjab, India. I could already see the shot I wanted in my head. This stunning building is the Sri Harmandir Sahib, also known as Golden Temple and is the holiest Gurdwara and the most important pilgrimage site of Sikhism. I wanted to capture the Golden Temple being struck by the first light of a new day. We almost missed the shot because we couldn't locate the right person to give us permission to use a tripod, which was essential to create this shot. The shocking blue light lasted all of 2 minutes before turning milky foggy white. Love this shot and definitely worth all the effort it took to get it.

Winters View - Wales

The spectacular winter view over teh Aberdovey estuary in Wales at sunset. The distant setting sun illuminating the waters of the estuary was a great way of finishing a recent snowy walk in Wales. Got to love the light.

Moon Ride Over Cusco

High over the cathedral in the centre of Cusco Peru the full moon rose and the shot was too good to miss.

Yosemite Valley

Perfect natural beauty. This shot was taken with my trusty Nikon D70s. After the heavy snowfall, we'd been trapped in the valley with all the roads out closed by police. This gave us a lot of time to capture what is one of my favourite views of this incredible region. And yes, I did have Ansel Adams in mind when i shot this :-)

Uluru - Australia

Uluru, or Ayers Rock, is one of Australia's most recognisable locations. This massive sandstone monolith in the heart of the Northern Territory’s arid "Red Centre" is tough to photograph, if only because there is nothing around it to give you a sense of the rocks scale and size. The moon putting in an appearance was just great luck.
