Mongolia is stunning but brutal. The Mongolian term for the deadliest storms is 'Zud'. Running late in the season, we rode our arses off and left the heat of Gobi Desert to reach the freezing ice storms of Mongolia's north-west territory before the weather cut off our access to the Russian border. The Zud which chased across the Altai Mountain range was ferocious, and this was one of the few images we captured of experience.
We were gently escorted out of Milford Sound by some stunning light. Lisa shot this as we headed north.
In northern Alaska, we were heading south and pushing hard to stay ahead of the building storm. One look back down the pass had us both pulling over and in spite of the bitter freezing temperatures, pulling out the camera and tripod. Dramatic Alaska at it's most beautiful.
