We posed for this image on the outskirts of the Ecuadorian town of Baños de Agua Santa, as the Tungurahua volcano erupts.
There are a few reasons to push past exhaustion when you're body is yelling for you to close your eyes and sleep. Capturing this image is one of those reasons. We had been riding for 14-hours through sand and corrugations, we were dehydrated and as we set up camp the starts began to appear. From that second I knew I had to stay up and photograph our stunning camp spot under a cloud of the Milky Way.
Riding the Silk Route through Tajikistan, we pulled over to sip some water and take in one of the most incredible mountain landscapes that either of us have ever ridden through. Mind-blowing!
